Collaboration is the New Currency

But if it’s not taught, it’s not practiced. We know elementary school learners have the capacity to learn collaboration—which is why we’ve reimagined how to engrain principles of collaboration throughout the Curtis experience.

The Vision Behind the CLIC

The Collaborative Learning and Innovation Center provides space for students to seamlessly follow their passions—wherever they lead.

When we take down the walls between classrooms, subjects, grade levels, and the outside—in this case literally—students develop into curious and dexterous problem solvers. This new 21,000ft2 3-story building houses all our arts, science, and technology classrooms under one roof.

At Curtis School, we share an overriding purpose: to build our children’s foundation and prepare them to become the empathetic collaborators our world needs.

To extend our legacy of thinking forward about elementary education, we embarked on a multi-phased initiative beginning with the Collaborative Learning and Innovation Center (CLIC), a hub for collaborative excellence, co-designed by Curtis teachers, where teaching and learning intertwine across the scientific, artistic, and physical. Here, students will develop unmatched dexterity of thought, engaging mind, body, and heart in joyful discovery at every turn.

Today, that vision has become reality thanks to the generosity and shared commitment of the Curtis community. The Collaborative Learning and Innovation Center has opened as a vibrant hub where Curtis students explore, create, experiment, and collaborate in new and dynamic ways. As we complete the final phase of the Think Forward campaign, your support will ensure this extraordinary space reaches its full potential, expanding the innovative teaching and learning experiences it was designed to inspire.
